Meet Our Team

Vasudha Turuvekere Krishnamurthy

PhD Student - Biotech Engineer

Vasudha joined REMeD from India and she develops human-based in vitro models to study the mechanobiology of the retina. Her work integrates engineering, biomaterials, and cell biology to create physiologically relevant platforms for understanding tissue mechanics and cell-matrix interactions. Passionate about translational research, she aims to bridge the gap between fundamental science and clinical applications. Outside the lab, she enjoys traditional dancing and singing.

Tanishka Watts

PhD Student - Biomedical Engineer

Tanishka first joined REMeD as a master student, where she developed a strong interest at the intersection of biophysics and mechanobiology. Following up on her work, she is interested in understanding epithelial mechanics as well as the mechano-electrical coupling in retinal organoid models during her PhD. She is passionate about uniting biology and engineering to drive innovations that improve patient outcomes and advance healthcare. Beyond the lab, she enjoys travelling and vlogging.

Camilla Mussoni

Postdoc - Biomedical Engineer

Camilla works on the production and upscaling of hydrogel-based membranes. These membranes can be applied to study retina mechanobiology as in vitro models. With a PhD in biomedicine, she is passionate about creating complex, accurate human models to reduce and replace animal testing. As an engineer, she enjoys finding solutions to everyday problems. Outside the lab, she enjoys attending good concerts and traveling.
